VLC Media Player is a versatile and powerful tool for playing various media formats, including audio and video playlists. Whether you want to enjoy a collection of songs or a series of videos, running a playlist in VLC is simple. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Install VLC Media Player
If you haven’t already, download and install VLC Media Player from its official website. It is available for multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS and Linux.
Step 2: Create a Playlist
You can create a playlist in two ways: manually or by importing an existing playlist file.
Manual Creation :
Open VLC Media Player.
Click on the “Media” menu in the top left corner.
Choose “Open File” and select the media files you want to add to your playlist.
Open the files and they will appear in the VLC playlist.
Importing an Existing Playlist :
If you have a playlist file (for example M3U or XSPF), go to “Media” > “Open File” and select your playlist file.
VLC will load the playlist and display it in the playlist view.
Step 3: Access Playlist View
To view your playlist, click “View” in the menu bar and select “Playlist”. This will open a sidebar showing all the files in your current playlist. You can rearrange the order by dragging and dropping items in this list.
Step 4: Play Playlist
To start playing your playlist, simply click on the first item in the list and press the play button or double-click on the item. VLC will automatically play the entire list in order.
Step 5: Save Your Playlist (Optional)
If you want to save your playlist for future use, go to “Media” > “Save Playlist to File”, select a location and save it in your preferred format.
